It was essentially a town-wide p*ss-up in the town my sister lives in so I went to visit her with some more of the family. Like I say, lots of drinking was done and lots of hanging out with her dog was done.
I struggled to get into the mood when the dog was around though because, as much as I love him, I could only pity him. I was there drinking all sorts of random things, and he was left with boring old water. I wanted him to get in on the fun. The boy deserved a beer.
Alas, I’m writing this today and yet two days ago I didn’t know it was an option. It turns out that dog beer, of sorts, is actually a thing.
The sort-of beer – called Good Boy Dog Beer – is actually more of a broth that contains no alcohol but comes in a can and it inexplicably still called beer. It comes in four flavours, including chicken, pork, veggie and peanut.
They’re made with proteins and vitamins so actually help with your dog’s digestive systems, and they’re also lovely and tasty for the lil’ mutts. The flavours go by the names Mailman Malt Licker, Crotch Sniffin’ Ale, IPA a lot in the Yard, and Session… Squirrel.
They’re not cheap though. One can will cost you $5 and four cans go for $18. Sort of like the same prices if you were to have a can of beer in a pub…
Just a bit of fun, isn’t it?
