A man was jailed after being found with two sharpies. When did this happen? This happened in October 2022.

Usually, when you hear that someone was found "carrying," you think of narcotics and weapons. But after being detained this month for having two Sharpie pens, one man gave the phrase a completely new meaning.

Along with the pens, 22-year-old Lloyd Griffiths was found on October 10 with a minor amount of cannabis. By having the pens on him, Griffiths violated the terms of his Criminal Behavior Order. So, that man was jailed after being found with two sharpies.

After Griffiths was reported for allegedly making offensive remarks to women at a McDonald's in Peterborough, his pens were discovered. He was found guilty of "prolific" criminal damage in 2019, and his activities "upset" people and business owners.

Griffiths was found guilty of criminal mischief in a public place, including graffiti. Griffiths got a court order telling him he can't have any items that could be used for criminal damage in public for the next five years.

Despite saying he didn't mean to use the pens, Griffiths admitted to violating a CBO and having a class B drug in public before Peterborough Magistrates' Court and was given an 18-week term. Griffiths claimed he was given the pens by a friend.

PC Luke Cooke said:

Griffiths was handed this CBO after causing prolific criminal damage in public places across the city centre, which resulted in disruption to local businesses in the area, and upset many members of the local community. I hope this result shows how seriously the courts take a breach of a Criminal Behaviour Order.- PC Luke Cooke

While we're talking about odd reasons people have been detained, last month an Israeli guy had authorities investigating him after posting a video of his dog "driving" a car.

The 35-year-old man from Ein Naqquba, west of Jerusalem, posted a video of himself driving with his small puppy on his lap and its tiny paws on the steering wheel.

Unfortunately, the video did not make the police laugh or like the man. When they saw it online, they quickly pulled him over on suspicion of driving dangerously.

The police stated "The suspect behaved in a reckless and improper manner when he let his dog hold onto the steering wheel, thereby endangering road users," the police said in a statement, according to The Times of Israel.

"He then went on to share footage of the dangerous act which reached the police. Whoever does such things is playing with human lives. We will continue to work to enforce and prosecute serious traffic violations."

Conclusion

A man was jailed after being found with two sharpies. Firstly, he was prohibited from possessing wet paint or marker pens and then given an 18-week prison sentence.
