Del Mar Race Track

Del Mar Fairgrounds Thoroughbred Racetrack Aerial Tour

Del Mar, California is known as the place "where the surf meets the turf" because of its beachside location. The 44,000-capacity racing track was founded in 1937 by actors such Bing Crosby, Gary Cooper, and Oliver Hardy.
It is the second-largest in the western United States. Del Mar also offers a hat contest every year and musicevents all year long in addition to graded stakes races like the Pacific Classic.

Pimlico Race Course established in 1870, making it one of the nation's oldest racetracks. The Preakness Stakes, the second race in the United States' Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing, is held there.
Despite the removal of the hill that served as a popular viewing site for the races in 1938, the infield continues to attract large throngs of spectators. The hill's moniker, "Old Hilltop," has stuck. In May, on Preakness Day, people gather to the historic track outside of Baltimore to watch the Preakness Stakes.

Ruidoso Downs, anybody interested in quarter horse racing? Even if thoroughbreds are more your thing, the New Mexico track known as Ruidoso Downs should still be on your to-do list if you're in the area. It's known as a Mecca for the Quarter horse community.
The All American Futurity boasts a purse of more than $2 million, making it one of the most lucrative races in the world, and it is held in a stunning mountain environment that has a mystic quality to it.

Belmont Park

The magnificent old womanmay be through some hard times, but she still has what it takes to get the job done. It is true that it is a bit depressing to witness such a great track with just a few thousand people rattling about the enormous grandstand, but on a lovely fall day, there are very few places that are more enjoyable to be.
Even on the day of the Belmont Stakes, when there is a strong chance that no horse will win the Triple Crown, I feel comfortable traveling to Belmont Park since the track can easily handle 50,000 people and still have space to spare. Visit it today before it's changed into a retail mall in the future.

Oaklawn Park

Oaklawn Park April 22, 2023 The Oaklawn Handicap

Oaklawn Park is a beautiful small track located in the resort town of Hot Springs, Arkansas. It has a gorgeous, glass-enclosed grandstand that has (ugh) slot-type equipment. There is also a great deal to see and do in the neighborhood and the surrounding region.
Plan your vacation to coincide with the Racing Festival of the South, which features a number of stakes races of a high caliber, including the Oaklawn Derby, a qualifying race for the Kentucky Derby. They have a pretty acceptable level of racing on a day-to-day basis. My one and only gripe is that there isn't a turf course here.

Keeneland Race Course

Thoroughbred Race Horses Training at Keeneland Race Track

Spend the day in Lexington, Kentucky, at the renowned Keeneland racing track, and you won't regret it. Keeneland is most well-known for holding grade one races, such as the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup, which is worth $500,000, as well as for the sale of thoroughbreds. The facility also has a blend of dirt and grass racing courses.
The Spring Meet, which is held on the course's immaculate grounds, is often attended by A-list celebritieslike as George Clooney and draws some of the largest crowds in the United States.

Saratoga Race Course

Saratoga Race Course - Saratoga Springs, NY - #6 Smiled At Me

Stepping within the gates of Saratoga Race Course, the country's fourth-oldest horse racetrack, is like traveling back in time. The first thing you'll be asked by every horse racing fan is, "Have you been to Saratoga?"
Saratoga offers the Travers Stakes despite not having Triple Crown races like its colleague Belmont Park, also controlled by the New York Racing Association.
The Travers Stakes, often called the Midsummer Derby, was founded long before the Triple Crown events and is the longest continually conducted contest for 3-year-olds.
It has hosted some of horse racing's most infamous shocks and continues to host the best stakes schedule in the sport. Man o' War's solitary defeat came at Saratoga, while American Pharaoh's only defeat in his second season came in the Travers.
The Graveyard of Champions, the House of Upsets, and The Spa are just a few of the labels that have been given to the Saratoga Race Course throughout the years.
Aside with Persistently beating Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra in the Personal Ensign Handicap, other notable shocks include Jim Dandy's 100-1 victory against Triple Crown winner Gallant Fox, Secretariat's loss to Onion in the 1973 Whitney Handicap, and many more.
The paddock bell is rung at Saratoga Race Course 17 minutes before each race, which is a custom that dates back decades. That's why Saratoga Race Course is considered to be among the world's premier horse racing venues.

Longchamp Racecourse

TOUR LONGCHAMP RACECOURSE HOME OF PRIX DE L'ARC TRIOMPHE | Behind the Scenes with Mickaëlle Michel

The prestigious Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe is held annually at the Hippodrome de Longchamp, Paris Longchamp, or Longchamp Racecourse in Paris, France. The Arc, which has been held annually on the first Sunday of October since 1920, is the most famous turf race in horse racing.
But the track's history stretches back far longer than that. In 1857, Emperor Napoleon III and his wife attended the first race at Longchamp.
The many, hilly, and intertwined courses at Longchamp are another reason the course is so well-known. More than 50% of all French Grade I races are held at this venue.
There is little doubt that Longchamp Racecourse is one of the world's top ten greatest places to watch a horse race.

Ascot Racecourse

Every Race From Opening Day Of Royal Ascot 2023

Ascot Racecourse, founded by Queen Anne, has hosted some of the world's greatest horse racing for generations, drawing visitors from all over the world who come to see the storied event and admire the world's finest horses.
When Ascot hosts the Royal Ascot meet, the whole world watches. This is the second-to-last major race in Britain, and it takes place over five days in June.
The prestige associated with attending Royal Ascot is quite genuine. The five-day celebration in the middle of June is as much a social as a sports event. The royal family has led a parade at the beginning of each day of the meet since 1825, and morning dress is required in specific enclosures.
However, Ascot Racecourse is home to much more than just the Royal meet. From April through October, Ascot stages 18 days of Thoroughbred racing, with British Champions Day serving as the season's finale.
The best jockeys, apprentices, trainers, and owners in the country are honored on British Champions Day. There will be five Group races that day, four of which are Group I, and it will also be a social gathering for many.
With a reputation for brilliance that spans more than three centuries, Ascot Racecourse deserves a spot on any list of the world's best horse racetracks.

Epsom Downs Racecourse

ALL RACE FINISHES FROM BETFRED DERBY DAY AT EPSOM RACECOURSE

The Epsom Downs Racetrack is located on its own. The venue, located on public property, hosts the Epsom Derby, one of the most prestigious horse races in the world.
Public land means free entry and room for 130,000 spectators. The Epsom Derby is one of the most well-attended horse races in the world, and the low price of entry is a big reason why.
The famous u-shaped layout of Epsom Downs Racecourse, the left bend at the top of the first hill (named Tattenham Corner), and the steep fall to the finish line drives the horses into a frenzy.
Compared to other venues hosting the British Classics, such as Newmarket and Doncaster, this course is often regarded as the toughest of the bunch.
The history of the American Triple Crown may have taken a very different path if not for Epsom Downs Racecourse and the Epsom Derby.
