12 Monkeys Trailer

The 12 Monkeys series on SyFy offers a little more gloomy take on time travel. One with intrigue, drama, and maybe world-ending stakes. But it in no way detracts from the quality of this television show about time travel.
The plot of 12 Monkeys revolves on James Cole (Aaron Stanford), who is sent back in time to prevent the spread of a virus that might wipe out humanity.
In Cole's actual history, it is the year 2043, and humanity is fighting for survival in the face of horrible mutations brought on by the virus. In order to prevent the outbreak of the virus and the group known as The Army of the 12 Monkeys, Cole journeys back in time to 2015 in search of virologist Cassie Railly (played by Amanda Schull).
The post-apocalyptic era and time travel are, in fact, a natural fit. If time travel exists, why not utilize it to alter the past if doing so would prevent something bad from occurring?
